Bangladesh Islami Chhatrasena 21st january 1980

Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Sena (Islamic Students army) is the biggest and most disciplined student organisation in Bangladesh. Sena has successfully devoted itself in building a well educated and honest generation of people rich with Islamic and social values. The organisation practices democracy, encourages its leaders and activists to be honest, educated and religious citizens of the nation.

Sena was established in January 21, 1980 in Chitagong with a mission "To satisfy Allah through the rearrangement of the total life of human being in the way given by Allah and shown by the prophet (peace be upon him)".

Sena is a well-disciplined organization with clearly defined hierarchy. When someone joins the organization, he is considered as 'supporter', meaning worker. When a 'supporter' meets a predefined standard of knowledge, rituals, moral status and leadership quality, he is promoted to a 'member'. When a 'member' is able to meet a predefined higher standard of knowledge, rituals, moral status and leadership quality, he is promoted to a 'anugami' meaning follower.

In widespread erosions of values in Bangladeshi society, especially among the students, Sena is considered one of the strongest fort for preserving the family, social and religious values.
